We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Marine Construction Project Manager to join our fastgrowing team at The Dock Experts! Successful candidates will have a proven history with and strong knowledge of marine construction requirements and exceptional people leadership/management skills. Duties may include but are not limited to: developing bid packages; calculating project costs; building and staying within budget; understanding and communicating client vision to laborers and subcontractors; interpreting project blueprints; planning scheduling work activities and overseeing the entire construction process endtoend for multiple projects in varying stages of the construction process simultaneously; managing and assisting construction crews in labor duties as necessary; scheduling work activities; ensuring foreman and crews are abiding by all safety regulations and standards and interfacing with all project personnel (permit team sales team managers clients foremen labor crews) to ensure successful project completion within time and budget constraints; and inspecting seawalls docks boat lifts and related components/accessories.

The ideal candidate should have extensive prior experience in marine construction a strong work ethic the ability to manage multiple projects and motivate performance with multiple crews be mechanically inclined resultsoriented have strong troubleshooting skills driven by the handson aspect of being in the field and working with project personnel and customers daily.

Core Responsibilities & Work Expectations

  • Provide overall project management guidance: develop schedule and manage project plans/intermediate phases to ensure projects are completed within specified budget and timeframes
  • Work with clients to understand their construction goals and objectives needs and vision to determine and define scope of work deliverables and project specifications
  • Determine develop interpret and communicate project plans blueprints drawings and specifications as required for customers suppliers subcontractors laborers and other project personnel as necessary.
  • Maintain a brisk productive work pace to ensure completion of all assigned tasks and projects within identified timelines
  • Interpret schedule assign evaluate and develop work activities accordingly to ensure timely completion of all active projects simultaneously
  • Lead multiple crews by maintaining respect and chain of command effectively delegating tasks to project foreman and crews subcontractors and other professionals as needed; Provide ongoing training and compliance measures to ensure all procedures are followed; mentor entry and midlevel laborers to promote employee productivity quality efficiency work ethic and development
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates (materials services labor etc.) manage costs and employ costsaving strategies as necessary while upholding all quality and regulatory expectations/requirements
  • Monitor stock and maintain appropriate inventory levels of materials equipment and tools that account for resource needs predicted within the project pipeline; address inadequacies promptly
  • Communicate and interact openly frequently and effectively and professionally at all times to uphold Dock Experts standards with clients contractors subcontractors foremen labor crews and other professionals throughout the entire project lifecycle. Ensure project scope or work schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood
  • Maintain a standard of excellence quality and timeliness in everything you do aligned to The Dock Experts values and expectations
  • Ensure all project procedures and work products are in accordance with contractual documents industry standards all pertinent legal and code requirements; quality plans and TDE standard of work
  • Determine project controls and schedule/conduct regular site reviews/inspections to evaluate and ensure adherence to project budgets timelines safety standards and quality standards meet or exceed customer and company expectations
  • Proactively anticipate and plan for common scenarios that arise in the marine construction process before they become an issue
  • Issue regular and adhoc reports to clients management and other stakeholders on project status timelines and cost adherence
  • Owns planning adjustments and communication to relevant stakeholders on delays emergencies and problems that may arise
  • Ensure a safe work environment through leading by example: comply with and ensure the project team is knowledgeable about and abides by all relevant safety and regulatory work practices policies regulations and requirements when operating equipment or walking on the job site even when not on active duty
  • Report and stop work on anticipated or observed unsafe work conditions practices and violations of applicable laws regulations or company policies and procedures promptly to ensure appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal). Disciplinary action (including dismissal) may be taken for failure to report/address violations
  • Performs labor duties related to the marine construction process and other related administrative and technical duties as may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision (such as certification training safety training procedure review etc.)


Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
  • Active drivers license: Must be qualified and physically able to drive regular passenger vehicles to visit work locations and job sites
  • 5 years proven marine construction experience
  • 2 years construction project management experience
  • Strong work ethic ability and drive to lead by example manage others and execute on multiple projects within deadlines and quality standards
  • Ability to adhere to budget schedule negotiate and control costs
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities
  • Communicate negotiate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors employees and others individually or in a team environment
  • Process and translate complex information to relay and delegate orders clearly and simply
  • Good English oral comprehension skills to follow verbal instructions and respond to questions about job tasks
  • Exceptional organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Strong mechanical skills & familiarity with hand tools such as power drills hammers and saws
  • Comfort reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
  • Ability to comply with our Drug Free Workplace Program
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to swim well as work is often performed on or near water

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher in Civil Engineering Construction Management Architecture or related discipline
  • PMP certification
  • Experience with FDOT USACE or other Govt. Agencies
  • Bilingual
