Overview:
The Progress 4GL Open Edge Developer plays a crucial role in designing developing and maintaining business applications using Progress 4GL and Open Edge technologies. They are responsible for translating business requirements into technical solutions to enhance and support the organizations software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Progress 4GL Open Edge Developer
Minimum of 5 years experience in CHUI and GUI programming (Web client/App server)
Expertise in Progress Open Edge to implement backend applications for various Projects including Finance Sales Aftersales and others
Experience in the development and integration of web services (e.g. REST SOAP) is a plus
Exposure and experience in Motor Dealership is a plus
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven experience in Progress 4GL and Open Edge development
- Proficiency in database design SQL and stored procedures
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git SVN)
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and problemsolving skills
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of web services and API integration
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization
