PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
To keep track of content delivery for processing processes with the main focus on ensuring they meet the delivery standard and tight deadlines.
All media must be reviewed before passed on for broadcast or further processing.
This individual must ensure the content complies editorially matching back to the synopsis and script. Content must also be validated for age rating ensuring the media is rated appropriately. All profanity sexuality use of drugs and alcohol must be flagged according to the ratings guidelines.

The key accountabilities interfaces and measures of this role are further elaborated below:
Key Accountabilities
Generating subtitles for content (From Kiswahili to English and vice versa)
1. Proficient in translating respective languages.
2. Resource should be a Kenyan (Kiswahili speaker) who understands the language nuances specific to Kenya and Tanzania.
Traffic Administration
Validate receive and dispatch of all Content licensed or commissioned.
Regular followups with production houses and 3rd parties regarding content availability and delivery status.
Coordinate and ensure that quality control is undertaken by the relevant teams i.e. Technical QC by Media Processing.
Meet the delivery deadlines as defined by the MNET Johannesburg
Traffic team.
Program Acceptance
View each media file received from start to end.
Identify media compliance info with regards to
o Profanity
o Sexuality
o Use of Alcohol and Drugs
o All other related Program acceptance flags
Ensure the episode or movie received matches the synopsis.
Quality Control
Validate technical quality of media received.
Identify quality issues with regards to the following aspects
Video quality
All media must be HD
No compression issues
Grading of media of consistent
Video quality is of high standard
Video Aspect ratio is correct
Audio quality
Audio is clean and no noise is present
Audio is audible and clear
Meta data management
Ensure all metadata pertaining to the media is captured in our contract management tool
Synergy
All Prep information is loaded accurately
If no synopsis present create one and add to the contract
management system
Relevant age ratings are loaded per episode to Synergy

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The incumbent is required to have the following qualifications and experience level:
1. Degree in Media Studies/ Video Technology or a similar field
2. A minimum of 25 years experience of technical broadcasting experience
3. Experience with any subtitling software (E.g. Subtitle Edit or Wincaps etc) and subtitling workflows.
4. Experience with postediting and/or timing of subtitles where required.
5. Proficiency in generating and translating subtitles from English to Swahili and vice versa
6. Kenyan (Kiswahili speaker) who understands the language nuances specific to Kenya and Tanzania.
7. Content scheduling/programming experience
8. Broadcast/entertainment industry and multiplatform experience
9. Understanding of broadcast value chain
