Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)

West Chester PA

Salary Starting: $58000 (Based on experience)

Job Overview: We are actively seeking a skilled and licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying with expertise in utilizing the latest surveying technologies and methodologies. As a PLS you will play a crucial role in conducting accurate land surveys managing survey projects and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct accurate boundary topographic and ALTA/NSPS land surveys using total stations GPS and other surveying instruments.
  • Interpret survey data prepare plats and analyze legal descriptions to determine property boundaries.
  • Ability to produce red line AsBuilt drawings
  • Provide Topographic and CrossSection surveys as required
  • Oversee and manage land surveying projects from initiation to completion ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders including clients engineers and government agencies to address project requirements and constraints.
  • Ensure that all land surveys comply with local state and federal regulations as well as industry standards.
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to verify the accuracy and completeness of survey data.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of survey computations field notes and final deliverables to maintain the highest standards of precision.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in surveying technology and integrate new tools and methodologies into surveying practices.
  • Implement innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of land surveying processes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements address concerns and provide updates on surveying progress.
  • Establish and maintain positive client relationships through exceptional service and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with surveying technicians and support staff to allocate resources streamline workflows and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of survey data field notes and project documentation.
  • Prepare and file survey plats legal descriptions and other documentation required for regulatory approvals.
  • Share acquired knowledge with the team to enhance the overall skill set of the surveying department.

Requirements:

  • 5 years min. technical Engineering/Surveying training
  • Must have passed PA surveryor in training exam
  • 3 years min. relative construction field experience
  • Willing to travel (if needed)
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments total stations GPS and surveying software.
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying laws regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
