Production Supervisor Job Description
JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:
Provide leadership direction and hands on involvement for areas of responsibility. Plan/Execute daily activities to ensure internal/external customer demands are met. Drive continuous improvement of safety quality delivery inventory and cost in area of responsibility through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools. Measures gives feedback rewards and/or topgrades Associates to ensure that the right talent is on the team. Work directly with Lead reports to achieve daily targets as well as company policy objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for managing and mentoring of production associates
- Drive process improvements to achieve management policy goals for safety quality delivery and cost
- Provide input and recommendations for the identification and selection of improvement projects
- Participate in facilitate and/or train kaizen or improvement project teams
- Responsible for establishing and meeting project quality delivery and cost objectives
- Develop and implement effective means of communicating safety quality delivery and cost related metrics to Teams
- Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
- Interface effectively with other managers to achieve overall goals using shared resources
- Complete performance and development reviews for direct report associates and provide feedback
- Work with Design and Implementation teams on manufacturability capability reliability reviews
- Manage labor availability to complete workload and work to enhance crosstraining for increased labor flexibility
- Assist in data collection and analysis for new business opportunities
- Maintain and support the ISO9001based quality system
- Support and lead KI activities and promote GQMP activities. (5S KI)
- Drive "best practices" in all areas of responsibility
- Assist in the development of the strategic plan in support of area
- Lead Daily Management at Gemba
- Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures take disciplinary actions if need arises
- Promote positive work environment in line with company culture
- Uphold the principles and practices of the GQM business management system including QC Thinking Kaizen Innovation.
- Participate in regulatory compliance activities related to the job function including quality audits adverse event reporting for company products and adherence to Good Documentation Practices for reporting and record keeping.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent. BS/BA in management/engineering or relevant discipline will be considered an advantage
- 5 years’ leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (project teams or staff supervision etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with both senior management and associates.
- Selfmotivation with a resultsdriven approach
- Data and factbased problem solving and reporting skills
- Scheduling planning and inventory management experience and ability to adhere to effective schedules
- Project management skills preferred.
- Focus for safety quality and customer satisfaction
- Lean manufacturing experience (Kaizen Kanban root cause analysis countermeasure implementation etc.)
- Basic financial understanding in order to control costs implement costreduction measures reduce waste etc.
- Ability to lift transport up to 25lbs across work area
- Ability to stand for extended periods up to 50% of the time and occasionally up to 8 hours or more per day. Able to move about the plant to access supplies machinery etc.
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders (25% or more) to obtain supplies and supervise work areas
- The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger handle feel or operate machinery objects tools or controls.
- The employee is constantly required to reach hear balance walk talk squat turn/twist and smell.
- Ability to see to detect errors and for overall quality control purposes
- Ability to communicate and exchange information with manager and team members
