Production Manager Blueberries Farm Management Planning Team Management Reporting SIZA GLOBAL GAP

United Exports is looking for a Production Manager with practical experience of the entire production process from plant to harvest specifically in Blueberry farming to join the team at Metsi Berries in Limpopo. The ideal candidate will be a manager with a proven track record working in a commercial multitiered technology driven organisation who has a progressive attitude towards implementing and maintaining worldclass farming standards and procedures.

• Strong team leader with good leadership traits in order to motivate teams
  
• Ensure compliance with all audit and legislation requirements
  
• Implement horticultural best practices to ensure production targets are achieved as agreed upon and instructed by the Estate Manager
  
• Contribute to implementing the overall business strategic planning; develop and set plans to streamline the OZblu overall business strategy
  
• Inspect production areas to determine harvesting and pruning dates considering block targets as identified in the strategic plan
  
• Assist newly employed employees with induction and integration into the team
  
• Ensure quality assurance as per the OZblu Standard as guided by Grower Success team
  
• Ensure compliance with the company s policies procedures and practices
  

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• A relevant tertiary degree in agriculture and/or horticulture
  
• 5 years relevant farm production experience from land development to harvesting and farm maintenance
  
• Experience with compliance e.g. Global G.A.P and SIZA is an advantage
  
• A relevant tertiary degree in agriculture and/or horticulture
  
• NonNegotiable: 35 years relevant farm production experience in a similar role in either blueberries or a similar soft fruit
  
  

Technical / Functional Experience:

• Horticultural practices and a technical understanding of fruit production functions
  
• Strong computer literacy: MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)
  
• Strong planning and coordination skills. Strong people management relationship building and interpersonal relations skills
  
• Good communication skills verbal and written
  
• Previous experience working in a large scale export production environment
  
• Experience with compliance e.g. Global G.A.P SIZA is an advantage
