Job Description

Req ID : 1951832
Are you a Product Owner with previous experience of working within an eCommerce or online retail environment and are looking to join a supportive and growing SME business? We are looking for a Product Owner to join our central Bristol office, on a full-time, permanent basis, offering hybrid working, who shares our passion for our business, ecommerce and the brands that we work with.
About us
We build long term brand equity by leveraging exceptional teams and technology.

We have assembled a talented and dynamic team of ecommerce and direct to consumer experts.

Our mission is to empower brands to deliver an interconnected customer experience using the right technology at the right time in the right way. Over the years, we have developed the vvast direct to consumer Playbook which delivers a comprehensive framework to scale brands globally. Our team has experience of working with 200+ brands, we are driving huge growth for our partner brands, and we want you to join us.

We’ve combined the core disciplines of technology, trading and building traction to provide higher performance for our partner brands than the most seasoned inhouse department.

We put the brand experience at the heart of everything we do, taking huge pride that we are trusted by some of the most respected brands in the industry.

We are on our journey to B Corp certification, powered by our D4C methodology and will now use the B-labs framework to deliver an innovative, purpose driven and transparent mission to aid brands on the journey to becoming more sustainable and ethical.
About the role- Product Owner
The Product Owner is responsible for overseeing all activities relating to researching, scoping and developing our platforms. This includes our current bespoke Shopify theme product and for our Microsoft PowerBI Business Intelligence product for the portfolio of vvast brands. Crucially, the role will entail large amounts of discovery work and exploring what the next stage of vvast could look like. There is potential for example to sell our platforms as stand-alone SaaS products all linked to our B-Corp mission – potentially disrupting the very OS of retail itself all for the good of planet and people. This role sits alongside our Project Manager, within the development team, reporting into the Head of Development.
The main responsibilities for our Product Owner role include but are not limited to:
  • Fully owning the vvast Shopify theme and PowerBi Business intelligence product
  • Full responsibility for functionality scoping
  • Working closely with the Project Manager so that they can create a project plan for each product
  • Exploring best practice user experience on the Shopify theme based on eCommerce knowledge
  • Working with the Data & Analytics team to understand the current and future on-site data to guide priorities on new functionality
  • Work with the Data & Analytics team on site testing to continually inform the roadmap and provide the technical infrastructure to facilitate this
  • Fully responsible for the roadmaps of any technical platforms that vvast engages with
What we offer:
  • A starting salary of £50,000-60,000
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • 1 paid day off for volunteering per year
  • Product discounts
  • Flexible working when needed
  • Hybrid working – minimum of 2 days per week in the office and the rest from home
  • Regular company off-site activity days
  • Cycle2work scheme
  • A supportive and approachable line manager, with clear induction, probationary and appraisal processes
Our values:
  • Relentless R&D- We move manual to machine to liberate our team for innovation and growth.
  • Brand first, revenue second- We build long term brand equity first and foremost. No compromise.
  • For planet and community- We deploy D4C to optimise, lower our impact and enrich our community.
  • Great things happen when we work together- The sum is greater than its parts, we play to our collective strengths.
  • Come as you are and never stop learning- We communicate openly, taking responsibility and sharing expertise.
Ideally, you will have previous experience working in a similar role or worked as a Product Manager and be comfortable in a tech-focused eCommerce environment, with an understanding and experience of UX. You will need to have sufficient technical understanding to understand the theme, what it does and how it applies to clients (front-end design). You will be a confident communicator and able to lead meetings both internally and externally.

To apply, please submit your CV. If your application is successful, our Talent Acquisition Business Partner will be in touch to discuss the next steps and send you through a full job description.

We are using a third party (Hectic People) to manage the recruitment process for this vacancy.

We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
