OVERVEW
The primary purpose of this position is to set up and operate equipment and processes for Phases of transition manufacturing. This equipment has a good deal of automation included in their operation. Sets-up and operates a multitude of equipment as follows:
Phase 1 - Robotic Grit Blast, Furnaces (air and vacuum), Robotic Coating Booths, Laser Hole Cutter, cosmetic grit blast, bar code readers and etchers;
Phase 2- Robotic Trim Welder, Press, Vacuum Furnace, bar code readers, manual welders;
Phase 3 - Belt Sanders, laser cutters, Hermele milling machines, Plating equipment, Hot Press Furnace, Vacuum Furnace, bar code readers, C-scan. Work from manufacturing information, drawings, and written and/or verbal instructions: Interpret detailed drawings/sketches, blueprints, manufactures specifications, etc., and determines necessary tools to perform required machining operations.
Using material handling devices (Jib & B/C cranes and forklifts)
Loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists crane operator
Load, unload materials from equipment and move material to next operation.
Perform minor operations on equipment such as: changing nozzles, verifying oil levels and checking filters, etc.
Adapts to various situations and adjusts to shifting priorities.
Team player - provides assistance to co workers i.e. training, handling, and/or measurements etc.
Completes detailed records and other information, as required by systems (Operator Verification, product identification, etc.)
Maintains own work area - preventative maintenance, cleans and returns tooling, attachments, fixtures, tables, etc. to proper location upon completion of operation.
Assists quality organization with measuring, testing, charting of operational information and/or recording data.
Performs a variety of in- process and integrity checks (electronic or manual), as required, to maintain specific drawing tolerances.
REQUIREMENTS
H.S. Diploma or GED required
BASIC knowledge of shop mathematics and operations, together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, several types of precision measuring instruments
1-2 years of applied trades experience (i.e. working with stainless alloys; use of blueprints, metrology, visual weld inspection and must understand electrical schematics etc. )
Must be able to use close tolerance measuring devices (calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc.) and be able to perform measurement conversions
Must be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.
Must have the ability to complete forklift, crane operator and LPI certifications.
Computer knowledge required.
2 years' experience with processes and procedures of the set-ups, operations, and the various products, tools, and equipment used for one phase of manufacturing
