Principal Structural Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Principal Structural Engineer is responsible for developing complicated and extremely involved alterations for deviations and damages to Primary Structures Secondary Structures & Fatigue Critical baseline and alteration Structures within the STC load affected area during production install.

Principal Structural Engineer is responsible for developing complicated and extremely involved repairs for damages to Primary Structures Secondary Structures & Fatigue Critical baseline and alteration Structures within the STC load affected area for the life of the STC.

Principal Structural Engineer is responsible for developing SSR (Static Substantiation Report) and DTA (Damage Tolerance Analysis) for complicated and extremely involved alterations and repairs within the STC load affected area during production install and the life of the STC.

Prepare Engineering Authorizations in accordance Sustaining Engineering processes and regulatory requirements.

Respond to customer queries with timely helpful information during customer request.

Supports after hours coverage in cases of AOG.

Can you drive these processes

Principal Structural Engineer assist in developing and building upon the core functions of Structural Repair and Alteration Engineering team which includes improving processes setting standard operating procedures and mentoring engineers and counterparts.

Streamline the Sustaining Engineering process while maintaining the highest standards of safety and timeliness.

Identify continuous improvement opportunities across departmental teams.

You should definitely have:

BS degree in Engineering

10 years of experience in aircraft related engineering.

Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office applications (Word Excel Power Point)

Knowledge of aircraft structures and repairs

Safety first mentality

Customer Service mindset

The ability to communicate your ideas both verbally and via presentations

Ability to travel occasionally including internationally 15%

It would be nice if you had:

Experience with FEMAP AutoCad and Visual Basic.

MRO Experience

Ability to read schematics.

Prior experience with Configuration Management (CM) preferably Agile.
