Job Description

MAC Consulting is hiring for a Principal Consultant with expert knowledge of procurement and supply chain. This individual will be responsible for general consulting to deliver across a range of Business Performance projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales process and develop proposals.
  • Build client and industry knowledge.
  • Conduct a comprehensive category analysis of spend data market trends supplier performance and demand patterns within each procurement category to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  • Analyse existing procurement processes workflows and systems to identify inefficiencies bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Recommend and implement process redesign initiatives to streamline operations enhance productivity and optimize resource utilisation.
  • Develop supplier segmentation strategies based on criticality risk and strategic importance.
  • Assist in negotiating supplier contracts terms and service level agreements (SLAs) to optimize value and mitigate risks.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to identify costsaving opportunities optimize supplier relationships and drive value for the client.
  • Develop risk management strategies contingency plans and compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to legal ethical and corporate governance standards.
  • Support project initiation and design project implementation including project management aspects such as time cost quality and delivery.
  • Conduct contract management and supplier rationalisation.
  • Demonstrate core consulting skills.
  • Conduct adhoc research for projects or business needs.


Requirements

  • At least 810 years in management consulting.
  • Indepth experience working on procurement practices.
  • Bachelor s degree is a minimum requirement.
  • Postgraduate (Honours level) preferred. MBA optional.
  • Analytical skills are essential for interpreting procurement data identifying insights and making informed decisions.
  • Exceptional verbal written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and build impactful relationships.
  • Strong humancantered approach and soft skills.


At least 8-10 years in management consulting. In-depth experience working on procurement practices. Bachelor s degree is a minimum requirement. Postgraduate (Honours level), preferred. MBA, optional. Analytical skills are essential for interpreting procurement data, identifying insights, and making informed decisions. Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to engage and build impactful relationships. Strong human-cantered approach and soft skills.
