Pricing Specialist

This is a contractor position (1099) and all work can be conducted virtually. Because this position is remote candidates must be effective communicators who are comfortable working autonomously and under compressed deadlines while prioritizing excellent customer service.

Position Description:

The Pricing Specialist assists proposal teams as a subject matter expert on government proposal pricing analysis and pricing strategy and helps teams assemble compliant cost volumes. The ideal candidate will be capable of advising clients on what is allowed and/or prohibited based on the specific solicitation and comfortable making recommendations regarding pricing strategies based on the clients resources. Must be able to occasionally work after hours and on weekends as required to meet proposal submission deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and analyze Request for Proposals (RFP) and/or Requests for Quotes (RFQ) in accordance with a clients policies to determine an appropriate pricing strategy for a successful proposal bid.
• Determine RFP allowable estimating methodology alternatives; develop and document estimate assumption.
• Conduct coordinated comparative analysis including research and analysis of historical data.
• Provide pricing scenarios and analysis lever analysis and risk evaluation and recommendations.
• Understand various types of indirect cost development and applications to different contract types.
• Present and discuss implications of various bid strategies on execution plans with leadership.
• Develop cost/pricing models to support proposal efforts as needed. Support audits factfinding proposal updates and negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with federal state and other related pricing laws regulations and guidelines to minimize legal and financial risk. Maintain compliance with clients company policies and procedures.
• Maintain awareness of pricing requirements for various contract types (Firm Fixed Price Cost Plus Fixed/Award/Incentive Fee Time and Material etc.).
• Maintain a working understanding of contract laws and regulations including FARs DFARs DCAA DMCA oversight TINA CAS CCPD and other government regulations as needed.
• Ability to summarize complex situations and data into straightforward messages for executive leadership. Interact and communicate professionally with clients executive level management team in a manner that builds trust and credibility.
• Work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Qualifications / Experience

Required

• Excellent verbal written and presentation skills
• Professionalism regarding project budgets and deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• 2 years experience with government proposal pricing

Desired

• Experience with industry pricing tools (e.g. ProPricer)

Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree required. 4 years of additional proposal/pricing experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
