Power Generator Technician

Position Overview:

As a Power Generator Technician based out of our Midland TX service center you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of power generators diesel engines and electrical distribution equipment. Your responsibilities will involve performing preventive maintenance troubleshooting equipment failures and conducting repairs both at our shop and at customer locations. This position requires daily local travel in a company vehicle with opportunities for overtime weekends and occasional travel.

Responsibilities:

1. Preventive Maintenance and Repairs: Execute preventive maintenance procedures and conduct repairs on power generators diesel engines and electrical distribution equipment to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
2. Troubleshooting: Utilize your technical expertise to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures both in the shop and at customer sites identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
3. Setup and Operation: Collaborate with other technicians to set up and operate equipment at our shop and on customer sites ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety protocols.
4. Customer Interaction: Interact with customers in a professional manner providing updates on maintenance and repair activities addressing their concerns and ensuring satisfaction with our services.

Requirements:

1. Education: Possess a High School diploma/GED.
2. Technical Knowledge: Demonstrate strong electrical knowledge and/or heavy diesel expertise with a minimum of 46 years of experience working on generators (minimum 100kW) including troubleshooting inspections maintenance and repairs.
3. Schematic Reading: Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics with the ability to calculate nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements.
4. Certifications: Depending on client requirements may need to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
5. Physical Ability: Capable of moving or lifting objects typically weighing less than 50 lbs.
6. Drivers License: Hold a valid drivers license.
7. Flexibility: Willingness to work in both field and shop environments and to work overtime weekends and occasional travel as needed.
