Poultry Farm Manager-Wiltshire-Salary Circa 35,000 + Accommodation!
We are working with a producer of organic free-range eggs, committed to sustainable and ethical farming practices. Their farm is dedicated to providing high-quality eggs while prioritizing the health and welfare of their hens and the environment.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Poultry Farm Manager to oversee an organic free-range egg farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in poultry management, with a focus on organic farming practices and a dedication to animal welfare.
The Job:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the organic free-range egg farm, including overseeing the care and feeding of the hens.
  • Ensure compliance with organic certification standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize egg production while maintaining high standards of animal welfare.
  • Monitor and maintain the health of the flock, including disease prevention and treatment as necessary.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, including feed, bedding, and equipment.
  • Supervise farm staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to farm operations.
The Candidate:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in poultry management, preferably in an organic or free-range farming environment.
  • Strong understanding of organic farming principles and certification requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of animal health and welfare best practices.
  • Experience with farm equipment and machinery.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
