- Lead engineering investigations to bring quicker issue resolution to support impacting enterprise customers and improve customer experience.
- Build solutions help create tools help automate issue detection and diagnosis to enable customers or support to selfresolve the issue.
- Able to work well in challenging situations while exhibiting flexibility and ability tolerate and manage through ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Represent Microsoft and communicate with corporate customers to provide indepth technical support for complex escalated problems identified in Microsoft software products or services and manage relationships with those customers.
- Occasionally these problems will not only be technically complex but will be politically charged situations requiring the highest level of customer focus skills
- Ability to optimize complex SQL queries for PostgreSQL including query analysis and index optimization.
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving performance issues including query execution plans and resource utilization
- Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing PostgreSQL performance using tools like pgstatstatements pgstatactivity and EXPLAIN ANALYZE and familiarity with PostgreSQL extensions.
- Knowledge of performance tuning parameters and settings
- Ability to write scripts in languages like Bash Python or PL/PG SQL to automate routine PostgreSQL tasks such as maintenance monitoring and data migrations
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex PostgreSQL database issues including database data integrity problems and connectivity issues
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL scaling techniques including table partitioning and sharding strategies
- Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems and develop solutions
