Position Availability Sign Language Interpreter

• Support students needs as outlined in their IEPs.
  
• Interpret extracurricular activities following school policies and supervisor directives.
  
• Provide interpretation services for all mainstream classes attended by D/HH students.
  
• Direct regular education staff inquiries regarding D/HH students to the designated case manager.
  
• Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as an integral part of the team when required.
  
• Act as a bridge between the D/HH Program and mainstream programs ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
  
• Stay updated on educational interpreting practices through participation in workshops professional gatherings networking with peers and staying informed about current literature in the field.
  

Requirements

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
  
• Experience working in a school setting.
  
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
• PEL endorsed in Educational Sign Language Interpretation.
