Overview:

The Placement Officer plays a crucial role in connecting students with potential employers and securing employment opportunities. They are responsible for fostering relationships with local and national businesses understanding industry needs and facilitating internship or job placements for students. This role requires a proactive detailoriented individual who can effectively match the skills and aspirations of students with suitable career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers to create placement opportunities for students
  • Evaluate students skills career goals and job readiness to match them with suitable placements
  • Collaborate with academic departments to understand curriculum and student capabilities
  • Organize and facilitate career fairs workshops and networking events for students and employers
  • Provide guidance to students on resume writing interview skills and career development
  • Collect and analyze placement data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate with alumni to leverage their professional network for job placements
  • Stay updated on industry trends and employment opportunities
  • Manage employer databases and maintain accurate records of student placements
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures related to student placements
  • Conduct employer outreach and pursue new placement opportunities
  • Assess and improve existing placement processes and strategies
  • Provide support to students undergoing internships and job placements
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field of career services
  • Collaborate with staff to promote and conduct careerrelated events and services

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration Human Resources or Education
  • Previous experience in career counseling recruitment or human resources
  • Demonstrated understanding of career development theories and best practices
  • Strong networking and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with industryspecific job market trends and opportunities
  • Proficiency in database management and recordkeeping
  • Experience in organizing and executing events and workshops
  • Knowledge of resume writing interview techniques and job search strategies
  • Analytical mindset to assess placement data and identify improvement areas
  • Understanding of the Higher Education landscape and academic programs
  • Proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new employer partnerships
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing student and employer needs
