Phlebotomist

1. Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients in their homes.
2. Adhere to proper patient identification procedures and labeling of specimens to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
3. Maintain a clean and organized work environment including proper disposal of biohazardous materials and adherence to infection control protocols.
4. Transport specimens to the laboratory for processing while ensuring proper handling and timely delivery.
5. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures address concerns and provide clear instructions for specimen collection.
6. Document all procedures patient information and specimen collection details accurately and promptly.
7. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other team members to ensure seamless coordination of home collection services.
8. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices and industry standards.

1. High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred.
2. Valid certification in phlebotomy from a recognized accrediting agency (e.g. ASCP NHA) is preferred.
3. Minimum of 12 years of experience as a phlebotomist preferably in a home collection or mobile phlebotomy setting.
4. Strong knowledge of phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture and capillary puncture and familiarity with various blood collection methods.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers.
6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and travel to different locations for home visits.
8. A valid drivers license and reliable transportation are required.
