Job Title: Payroll Clerk (Construction Company)

Job Description:

We are seeking a detailoriented Payroll Clerk to join our team a reputable construction company. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in handling certified payroll and OCIP reporting particularly within Union companies. As a Payroll Clerk you will be responsible for managing both union and nonunion payrolls with a strong emphasis on union payroll processing.

Responsibilities:

Process weekly paychecks accurately and timely by collecting payroll data and timesheets from employees.

Ensure precision in payroll calculations adhering to union rates burden tables & fringes prevailing wages and holiday and vacation hours as per offer letters.

Execute deductions accurately including but not limited to 401K child support garnishments etc.

Generate required reports for certified payroll reports OCIP weekly Certified Payroll reports and other pertinent documentation.

Maintain compliance with federal state and local payroll regulations and union agreements.

Address employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly and professionally.

Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data management.

Assist in audits related to payroll ensuring all documentation is readily available and accurate.

Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and union requirements to ensure compliance.

Work closely with finance and accounting teams to reconcile payroll transactions.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in accounting finance or related field is a plus.

Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk preferably in the construction industry.

Strong understanding of certified payroll processes and OCIP reporting.

Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.

Excellent numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.

Effective communication skills both written and verbal.

Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.

Familiarity with union agreements and regulations is highly preferred.
