Job Description

Job Title: Pathway Coach and State School Lead

Accountable to: Head of Talent Pathway

Contract: 2 year fixed term

Hours: minimum 40 hours per week

Salary: 24,000 per annum

Location: Taunton

Closing date: 15 September 2023

The Role

Our Academy and Pathway Team is expanding! We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Level 2 qualified coach to join our progressive team in the position of Pathway Coach and State School Lead. This is an innovative position with the chance to transform perceptions of accessibility in cricket and make a real difference in state school children's experience.

Your main focus will be to work alongside the Head of Talent Pathway to design, implement and deliver a programme for state school pathway cricketers in Somerset. You will have overarching responsibility for the Somerset State School Programme and MCC Foundation Programme delivery. You are key to transforming perceptions about routes into professional cricket!

Some of your day-to-day duties and responsibilities include collaborating extensively with the MCC Foundation, Cricket Foundation, Clowance Trust, and Richard Huish College to maximise the programme's reach and impact; delivering across the Somerset Pathway, leading a County Age Group side and supporting EPP & Academy cricketers when appropriate; managing winter and summer training programmes; overseeing the financial aspects of the programme; ensuring a safe and inclusive environment is achieved at all times.

      To be successful in this role, you'll need experience of working with pathway cricketers and/or talent development programmes, have a passion for the development of state school cricketers and have exemplary relationship and rapport building skills with the ability to inspire and positively influence people. You're a strong, empathic leader with excellent communication skills; self-reflective, with a desire for continuous improvement, you are an excellent role model who leads by example.
