We are looking for a Pathology Physician Services to work in Iowa City IA supporting our client.

Contract Term: 1 year


Start date: 4/1/24


End date: 3/31/25


Hourly Rate: $121/hour

Description:
  • Medical professional who studies diagnoses and treats illness injuries and other ailments.
  • They have knowledge of medical ethics human anatomy pharmacology and other specialties depending on their field.
  • Physicians provide preventative care detect developing health problems and give advice to help patients develop healthy habits.
  • Physicians are also known as doctors or medical practitioners.


Degree: Doctor of Medicine Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must be accredited.

Education:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
  • This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association;
  • Association of American Medical Colleges:
  • Liaison Committee on Medical Education;
  • Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.


License:

  • The physician shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property.
  • All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
  • Physician who have current full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states but who have or ever had a license restricted suspended revoked voluntarily revoked voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.


Board Certification:

  • Physician shall be Board Certified
  • Pathologist by the American Board of Pathology (abpath.org) and be currently certified in BLS ACLS or equivalency.
  • All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
  • Documentation verifying current certification shall be provided by the Contractor to the VA COR on an annual basis for each year of contract performance.


Technical Proficiency:

  • Physician shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the governments requirements including the ability to speak understand read and write English fluently.
  • Contractor shall provide documents upon request to verify current and ongoing competency skills certification and/or licensure related to the provision of care treatment and/or services performed.
  • Contractor shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational history for all physician and physician shall be responsible for abiding by the Facilitys Medical Staff ByLaws rules and regulations that govern medical staff behavior.


Training:

  • Training (ACLS BLS EHR and VA MANDATORY): Contractor shall meet all VA educational requirements and mandatory course requirements defined herein; all training must be completed by the physician(s) as required by the VA.
  • Other training may become required. VA will communicate any changes to the training requirement to the contractor.
