Job Description

The Agency is seeking a patent prosecution and counseling associate or patent agent at any level with at least 2 years of experience in patent prosecution and counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patent Prosecution: Manage and prosecute a diverse portfolio of patent applications in collaboration with inventors clients and patent examiners.
  • Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive legal research analyze prior art and stay current on relevant laws regulations and industry trends to provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Client Communication: Interact directly with clients to understand their innovations discuss patent strategies and provide updates on the status of patent applications.
  • Drafting and Prosecution Documents: Prepare and draft patent applications responses to office actions and other prosecutionrelated documents ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including patent agents attorneys and administrative staff to streamline patent prosecution processes and enhance efficiency.
  • IP Portfolio Management: Assist in managing and maintaining clients intellectual property portfolios including conducting due diligence portfolio analysis and patent landscape studies.
  • Client Counseling: Provide legal advice and counseling on patentrelated matters offering insights into patent validity freedom to operate and infringement issues.


Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • 2 years of experience in corporate law practice.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
