Job description

Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: New York NY

Pay: $70/ hr

Schedule: 10 am7 pm 34 days a week

As a Pharmacist you will be responsible for providing patient care within a retail pharmacy setting. Your primary role will be to ensure the safe and effective use of medications by dispensing prescriptions offering patient counseling and providing expert advice on overthecounter medications. You will work closely with customers healthcare professionals and pharmacy staff to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical care and contribute to the overall success of the retail pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prescription Dispensing: Accurately interpret and fill prescription orders ensuring the correct medication dosage and quantity are dispensed in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Patient Counseling: Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients explaining dosage instructions potential side effects and any other relevant information to promote safe and effective medication use.
  • Medication Management: Collaborate with healthcare providers to review medication regimens identify potential drug interactions or contraindications and recommend appropriate alternatives or adjustments when necessary.
  • OvertheCounter Assistance: Offer guidance and recommendations to customers regarding overthecounter medications dietary supplements and other healthrelated products.
  • Patient Care: Respond to patients questions and concerns providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to all regulatory requirements maintain accurate and uptodate patient records prescription files and inventory management systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives including medication error reporting inventory audits and compliance assessments.
  • Collaboration: Foster effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals including physicians nurses and technicians to optimize patient care and ensure seamless coordination.
  • Health Promotion: Educate patients and the community on topics such as medication safety disease prevention and overall health and wellness.

Job Type: Parttime

Salary: $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 36 per week

License/Certification:


  • Licensed Pharmacist (Required)

  • Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid pharmacist license in the state of New York.
  • Experience in using Best Rx systems for prescription processing and inventory management.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical principles laws regulations and standards.
  • Detailoriented with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to patient safety confidentiality and ethical practices.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as per retail pharmacy needs.
