About the Opportunity:

As a Network Engineer (Intermediate) you will be responsible to assist in the design implementation maintenance and optimization of our network infrastructure. You will be part of a team of network engineers and work collaboratively with other IT teams to ensure the stability security and performance of our network.

Position: Network Engineer (Intermediate)

Work Location: Colorado Springs CO

Client: USSF

Security Clearance: Active US Government Top Secret

Certifications: Verifiable CompTIA Security Certification

Primary Responsibilities

  • Network Design and Architecture:
    • Assist with the design and architecture of the organizations network infrastructure to meet current and future business needs.
    • Assist in the planning for network expansion redundancy and scalability.
    • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and security standards.
  • Network Implementation and Maintenance:
    • Assist on the installation configuration and maintenance of network hardware and software components including routers switches firewalls and load balancers.
    • Monitor network performance and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Assist on implementation and enforcement of network security policies and measures to protect against unauthorized access data breaches and other threats.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
  • Network Optimization and Performance:
    • Continuously assess and optimize network performance including bandwidth utilization and latency.
    • Assist in identifying and resolving bottlenecks or performance issues.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure network equipment and services.
    • Manage vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate network documentation including network diagrams configurations and inventory.
    • Generate regular reports on network performance security and capacity.

Education/Experience:

  • At least 10 years of proven Network Engineering experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience managing VoIP systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience with VoIP infrastructure hardware such as gateways and call managers.
  • Proven experience in Infrastructure enterprisewide network administrative activities.
  • Experience with remote administration/access 802.1x
  • Experience with network monitoring/traffic analysis
  • Experience with Internet Protocol (IP) management
  • Experience with Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Scope management
  • Experience with Information Technology (IT) device configuration and installation
  • Experience with network encryption systems (Crypto)
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.
  • Proficiency in network protocols routing and switching technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of network security best practices.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Excellent leadership communication and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fastpaced environment.
