PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

This position is responsible for leading the efforts to profitably grow the company s business with major national and regional customers by developing new accounts and by improving share and value mix with existing customers. The National Sales Manager is also responsible for total account management proactively generating new business opportunities/projects recapturing lost business and qualifying sales leads to evaluate the type of support the account will need (outside inside distribution product development).

SUPERVISION: No direct supervision responsibilities at this point.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following statements describe the key responsibilities to be performed by the position. Key responsibilities are those the individual must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.
  • Direct selling of customers responsible for managing the sales process prospecting contract negotiation and proposals to ensure business financial objectives are met.
  • Develop and execute market plans including strategic sales objectives and tactical plans to meet annual sales targets.
  • Advocates for customers within the company ensuring the customer needs and concerns are addressed and communicated effectively across the organization and confirming with the customer a solution that fits their needs.
  • Develop sales and engagement strategies for key national accounts regional accounts and other potential customers.
  • Support the existing business while growing margin and sales volume with particular focus on NonGMO organic and other specialty products.
  • Familiarity with regenerative agriculture sustainability and traceability programs
  • Propose product solutions to clients by applying their specific requirements (e.g. production process logistics product application technical characteristics ingredients etc.).
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Department prepare individual tailored pricing quotes and sales contracts.
  • Prepare and present regular updates reports on sales metrics and market intel to Senior Leadership.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Operations Management Technical Services and Customer Service to prospect and develop new opportunities to grow the companys market share.
  • Develop trust with customers that provides a significant competitive barrier.
  • Perform both prospecting and account management tasks such as customer insight gathering price intelligence forecasting customer development planning customer service delivery and contract/price management.
  • Plan and attend meetings and events including industry trade shows to generate new opportunities of business.
  • Establish & maintain a network of industry contracts that lead to sales.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner.
  • Must be able to travel 30% of the time.
  • Responsible for food safety and quality.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The following is the requisite education and/or work experience for this position.
  • Bachelor s Degree in Business or related field and 5 years experience of successful B2B sales in a milling environment (preferably corn) where the product is sold as an ingredient to other food manufacturers strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read write and speak fluently in English is required.
  • Excellent people relationship skills required.
  • Ability to multitask effectively a must.
  • Must be selfdriven and very motivated.
  • Excellent organization and relationship skills.
  • Strong teamwork ethic positive proactive flexible attitude with the ability to take complete ownership of responsibilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.
  • Possess strategic thinking (e.g. analyzing and applying a broad organizational and business perspective to identify and maintain focus on key drivers of current and future organizational performance).
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write informative reports business correspondence and formal presentations that can be effective to all levels of personnel.
  • Strong planning skills to run multiple projects and/or initiatives at a time by driving alignment across stakeholders creating plans for the work to be completed and delegating work appropriately to balance own and team s workload.
