If the nurse has expertise in a particular discipline we appreciate knowing that and will utilize them with those patients as a rule but will possibly get exposure to patients in the other disciplines as well. May float to StepdownUnit: 2S ICUNumber of Beds: 32Nurse Patient Ratio: 1:2 (Specific ratio is not guaranteed)Must be float to Med Surg units as needed. Will be required to take up to 45 patients when floated.Patient Age Groups: Adults GeriatricLevel 1 stroke/stemi hospital. 3 disciplines in one unit medical surgical and neuro.Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: Respiratory distress/failure cardiac arrest DKA sepsis ARF strokes (hemorrhagic and embolic) OHS TAVRs vasc surgs thoracotomies carotids. Special procedure done on the unit: Many procedures are done at the bedside. Bronchs trachs central line insertions intubations arterial line and swan ganz line placement chest tube insertions. Common Equipment: Alaris pumps Prisma flex Arctic Sun IABP Impella SCDs Phillips Monitors Belmont rapid infusor ceiling lifts bard and CADD pumps bladder scanners.
