Job Description

Our client in the FMCG manufacturing sector is looking for an experienced tradetested Millwright/Fitter to join their maintenance team. This role provides a significant opportunity for growth in both scope and responsibilities within the company.



Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting and coordinating all maintenance on machinery and equipment in the departments.
  • Completing maintenance schedules and programs for each machine as per supplier recommendation.
  • Building an inventory of spares for the machines and controlling spares usage and costs.
  • Properly maintaining maintenance records as per ISO Quality System.
  • Identification and achievement of measurable technical and process developments and improvements.
  • Attending to breakdowns.
  • Ordering of necessary equipment and tools for the factory when necessary.
  • Attending relevant meetings i.e. DRM s Production Meetings etc where necessary.
  • Assist production in achieving optimum efficiencies.
  • Fault identification fixing of route cause and ensuring the accurate completion of production logs and job cards.
  • Advising on and implementing technical improvements where appropriate and costeffective.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures.
  • Be available for callouts after hours.
  • Ensuring that the work in the section is performed in terms of agreed expectations and the company s standards.



Requirements


  • Possession of a N3 qualification (minimum) or higher would be advantageous.
  • Qualified Red Seal Artisan.
  • Have advanced hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • Have at least 5 postqualifying years of experience in a production environment.
  • An ability to interact with employees at different levels.
  • Able to run a maintenance program with continuous improvements.
  • Identify and solve problems effectively.
  • Logical systematic approach with the ability to do minor electronic faultfinding.
  • A passion for Quality.
  • An ability to handle conflict and diffuse it constructively and good communication skills.
  • A willingness to work overtime when necessary.
