Job Description:
Specific Position Requirements
- We are seeking a contingent Lab Technician to support our Metallurgical Lab team working closely with the Materials Engineers.
- The successful candidate will perform a variety of materials testing assist in the preparation of technical reports and maintain lab equipment and supplies.
- This role requires knowledge and understanding of materials testing equipment and methods as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow test plans established by Materials Engineers ensuring efficient and accurate execution of materials testing processes that meet the customers needs.
- Perform routine materials testing using established procedures and techniques to ensure product quality and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Assist the Materials Engineers in the preparation of detailed technical reports based on materials testing results outlining findings and recommendations.
- Operate and calibrate analytical equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Maintain lab equipment tools and supplies ensuring a clean organized and efficient work environment.
- Assist the Materials Engineer with troubleshooting and resolving materialsrelated issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of experiments results and analyses and support the Materials Engineers in presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
- Continuously improve lab processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
- Prior experience working in a materials engineering lab or similar environment.
- Familiarity with materials testing equipment and methods.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods
