About The Role:

Safe Systems of Work:
- Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in the workplace.
- Maintain assigned equipment and conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance activities.
- Report all operational deficiencies promptly to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
- Assist in efficiently troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
- Promote safe work methods and respectful interactions among all personnel.
- Encourage innovation in work processes and foster strong communication links with staff.
- Prioritize the safety and wellbeing of individuals working onsite.
- Uphold integrity in all professional interactions.
- Seek feedback proactively to enhance personal performance.
- Take initiative to continually improve skills and knowledge.
- Assist in various mechanical engineering activities including research design manufacture and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Prepare drawings plans and designs under the direction of supervisors.
- Participate in the selection of tools and equipment for tasks.
- Assemble and install mechanical assemblies components and controls according to specifications and regulations.
- Organize and supervise inspection and maintenance activities for machinery and plant equipment.
- Ensure that designs and finished work meet specifications regulations and contract provisions.
- Maintain personal fitness and adhere to drug alcohol and fatigue policies.
- Prioritize safety for oneself colleagues visitors and the public.
- Follow instructions and use correct manual handling techniques.
- Wear use and maintain personal protective equipment.
- Communicate effectively with all personnel.
- Comply with site safety requirements and report hazards promptly.
- Complete safety documentation daily.
- Report all injuries and illnesses promptly.
- Participate in meetings inspections and training activities.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Participate in induction and training activities.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding employee relations.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years post apprentice work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Australian Recognised Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter Boilermaker or equivalent
- Site specific (e.g. confined space working at heights) as required
- First aid certificate
- Current Driving Licence
- Strong problemsolving skills;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Proven ability to work safely; &
- Ability to work with organisational values;
- Quick thinking;
- Attention to detail;
- Integrity / honesty / ethical;
- Team player / goal oriented with a “Can Do “attitude; &
- High work ethic.
