Services Task Mechanical Engineering Support

B1

Conduct cost comparisons and feasibility studies on mechanical components such as sheet metal castings machined components standoffs and electromechanical components to help identify potential MCO projects.

Identify and validate critical measurements and tolerance checks of the new components using Bently Nevada lab equipment (CMM optical comparators & profile projectors and gauges). Document design modifications for MCO projects.

Follows defined alternate component qualification process and performs qualification testing following Bently Nevada test methodology and equipment such as high vibration tests (seismic lab) temperature and HALT tests humidity susceptibility tests drop tests crush tests salt spray analysis oil or hazardous material susceptibility/compatibility and cable mechanical reliability tests (bend test pull test abrasion etc.)

Design changes Design assessment to improve product performance. Support to prototype build & test

B5

Design document and build required test fixturing or support components

B6

Validates design through calculations and functional tests. Develop test plans. Perform & support relevant tests in the lab

B7

BoM review & updates SAP activities. ECM MCN process for document revision & update
