As a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) your primary responsibility is to design and develop mechanical systems components and structures for AUVs emphasizing functionality reliability and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems components and structures for AUVs focusing on functionality reliability and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to conceptualize prototype and validate innovative mechanical designs for AUVs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies simulations and analysis to ensure the integrity and efficiency of mechanical systems in marine environments.
  • Lead the execution of design projects from initial concept through detailed design manufacturing and testing phases.
  • Implement design improvements and modifications based on performance evaluations and operational feedback.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards regulations and safety guidelines in AUV mechanical design and development.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Design: Proficient in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD) for designing mechanical systems structures and components.
  • AUV Design: Extensive experience in designing and developing mechanical systems specifically tailored for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs).
  • Marine Robotics/Oil & Gas: Indepth knowledge and prior involvement in AUV design projects within the marine robotics or oil and gas sectors.
  • Simulation and Analysis: Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS COMSOL) and conducting analysis to ensure mechanical integrity and efficiency in marine environments.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent teamwork communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors/Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering with a specific focus on AUV design in oil and gas or marine robotics.
