Materials Manager

Growing ManufacturingCompany in Greenwood MS has a need for a MM. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Materials Manager to join our team. As a Materials Manager you will play a crucial role in managing the flow of materials and ensuring the availability of resources for production. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the procurement and inventory management processes
• Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to forecast material requirements and develop production plans
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues or discrepancies
• Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions
• Implement and maintain efficient systems for tracking and reporting on material usage costs and variances
• Lead a team of materials specialists providing guidance and support to ensure departmental goals are met
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Business Administration or a related field
• Proven experience in materials management or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of procurement and inventory management principles and best practices
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to make datadriven decisions
• Proficient in using inventory management software and ERP systems
• Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to effectively manage a team
