First Shift 8am 5pm (Flexibility if candidate would prefer 7am 4pm 6am3pm)

Must Haves

Metals experience (preferably steel and cast iron) this role is in the materials/metals lab of the tech center and they will be evaluating the materials/metals that will be going into Cummins engines
Collaborative/teamoriented personality this role interacts with various engineers within the organization and can t be somebody that wants to have their head down and work solo
Previous testing experience is a huge plus (e.g. tensile strength testing hardness testing etc.)

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associates degree or higher is preferred.

Experience: If they do not have a college degree they will need to show at least 1 years of experience.



* Southern Indiana Position Only * Job Summary: Performs analysis data acquisition and maintenance of Materials Engineering tools and standard and specialized test equipment. Key Responsibilities: Plans and schedules testing on specialized analytical equipment. Provides technical expertise and support for specialized analytical equipment. Prepares specimens and performs analysis of typical Cummins parts; provides written results in a technical report format. Performs routine and nonroutine analysis and data acquisition using specialized analytical equipment which may include scanning electron microscope and associated dispersive xray spectrometers ultrasound scanning technologies Fourier transform infrared spectrometer wear testers xray diffractometer (residual stress retained austenite phase analysis) gas chromatograph ion chromatograph inductively coupled plasma spectrometer thermal gravimetric analyzer differential scanning calorimeter mass spectrometer xray spectrometer ultra sound analyzers optical imaging equipment tensile/compression testers hardness testers gas flow reactors spark emission spectrometer viscometer rheometer eddy current flow tester dye penetrant flaw tester magnetic particle flaw tester and metallographic equipment. Performs routine maintenance and calibration checks on specialized analytical equipment. Develops and applies test methods to measure physical properties of materials or detect defects in engine components; participates in the development of new and advanced methods to improve laboratory capabilities. Works with outside services and vendors to provide test and analysis capabilities. Qualifications and Competencies: High school diploma GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in a related field.
