Job Summary:

As a Material Handling Equipment Operator you are responsible for the efficient and safe operation maintenance and handling of various material handling equipment. This includes Lifters Jumbo Trollies Lifts Forklifts Tow Trucks Hoists Hand Pallet Trolleys Booking Wagons Cages & Skids Main Entrance Gate Gearboxes and Material Handling Trolleys. Your role is crucial in ensuring smooth logistics operations minimizing downtime and maintaining safety and compliance in material handling.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Operation and Handling:
   

   • Operate a variety of material handling equipment safely and efficiently following operational guidelines.
     
   • Load unload move stack and stage products and materials using the appropriate equipment.
     
   • Ensure proper handling and minimal damage to materials and equipment during operations.
     

2. Maintenance and Inspection:
   

   • Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance on material handling equipment to ensure optimal performance.
     
   • Identify and report any malfunctions damages or wear and tear; perform minor repairs or coordinate with technicians for major issues.
     

3. Safety and Compliance:
   

   • Adhere to safety protocols and operational standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
     
   • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to material handling and equipment operation.
     
   • Participate in safety training and stay updated with best practices in material handling and equipment safety.
     

4. Inventory and Record Keeping:
   

   • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper handling of materials and usage of equipment.
     
   • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage maintenance activities and any incidents or discrepancies.
     

5. Collaboration and Communication:
   

   • Collaborate with the logistics team warehouse staff and other departments to ensure seamless material handling and equipment operation.
     
   • Communicate effectively with team members management and external parties regarding material handling operations and equipment status.
     

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in material handling or equipment operation is preferred.
  
• Proven experience in operating a wide range of material handling equipment.
  
• Valid certification to operate forklifts hoists or other material handling equipment as required.
