MARKETING SPECIALIST:


The Fifth Avenue Association is the Business Improvement District (BID) from 46th Street to 61st Street and 57th Street from Madison Avenue to 6th Avenue which works to ensure Fifth Avenue remains the most iconic street in the world. Our BID consists of 100 worldclass luxury retail stores hotels restaurants and museums including Saks Fifth Avenue The Plaza Louis Vuitton Tiffany Bergdorf Goodman The MoMA St. Patrick s Cathedral and many more! As we head into an exciting period for Fifth Avenue we are growing our marketing team to enhance our work in elevating our members activities and to support our bold communications strategy to position Fifth Avenue as the top destination for culture and retail worldwide.



JOB SUMMARY:


The Marketing Specialist reports to the Head of Communications and will help support existing marketing programs while collaborating with leadership in the development of new initiatives aligned with organizational goals. Under the guidance of senior employees the Marketing Specialist will drive and execute a wide range of marketing functions including communications programming and events social media and partnerships while adhering to the organization s marketing standards. This includes aiding in or overseeing initiatives that create positive awareness for the neighborhood and its businesses generate income for the organization and support districtwide marketing efforts. Success within this role will be reached through strong initiative organizational skills responsiveness and prioritization with an ability to multitask many diverse projects at once and a solid ability to execute the workload quickly and efficiently. This position is ideal for a Marketing professional seeking to develop and grow into a Managerlevel role within the marketing industry.


JOB DUTIES:


Work closely with leadership to develop and execute FAA s marketing strategy and supporting initiatives to further the Fifth Avenue brand.

Responsible for implementing best practices and improving the department s overall functionality including maintaining contact databases maintaining department calendar reporting and organizing assets.

Under leadership direction coordinate and manage the moving parts various marketing events and campaigns.

Support daytoday scheduling and logistics.

Oversee email marketing efforts including creating and scheduling monthly newsletter and additional email campaigns.

Complete website updates in a timely manner to ensure content is current and accurate.

Join meetings on behalf of FAA with vendors and brand marketing contacts where appropriate.

Acts as point person for vendors and brand marketing contacts where appropriate.

Create proofread and edit copy for various communications channels ensuring a consistent brand message.

Support in developing and distributing materials related to the organization.

Coordinate and manage events some of which may occur on evenings and/or weekends.

Collaborate with leadership team and outside vendors to support sponsorship and partnership programs.

Performs other duties as assigned.



Requirements

Bachelor s degree in Marketing Communications Business or related field.

35 years of related experience in marketing communications business client management or related field.

Experience and strong interest in retail and fashion culture and/or economic development.

Proven experience coordinating marketing initiatives and campaigns.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Understanding of how various marketing functions work together and the drive and desire to grow within the marketing industry

Experience working with stakeholders from luxury brands.

Marketing experience within multibrand or Business Improvement District (BID) environments.

Strong organizational and project management skills as well as attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and pivot when needed.

Must be a selfstarter and able to move projects forward prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal guidance.

Proficient using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools such as email internet and Microsoft products (e.g. Word Excel Office Outlook).

Graphic design experience is a plus.

Willingness and ability to support events that periodically occur during the evening and/or weekends.

Experience using various marketing platforms channels and best practices including social digital and email marketing.

Experience coordinating and managing events.

Strong copywriting and proofreading skills.

A high level of creativity.

Travel within the New York City area up to 10% may be required.

NOTES:

Salary range $60$75K commensurate with experience.

Required in office 4 days per week 1 remote
