Position Overview: A Manual Tester plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through manual testing processes. They are responsible for executing test cases identifying defects and providing feedback to development teams to facilitate product improvements. Manual Testers work closely with other members of the quality assurance team and collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver highquality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Test Case Development:

    • Develop detailed test cases based on project requirements user stories and acceptance criteria.
    • Ensure test cases cover all functional and nonfunctional aspects of the software application.
  2. Test Execution and Validation:

    • Execute manual test cases to verify software functionality performance and usability.
    • Record test results accurately including both expected and actual outcomes.
    • Validate software changes and new features to ensure they meet specified requirements.
  3. Defect Identification and Reporting:

    • Identify and report software defects using designated defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA Bugzilla).
    • Provide clear and detailed descriptions of identified issues including steps to reproduce and relevant environment details.
    • Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and resolve reported defects.
  4. Regression Testing:

    • Perform regression testing to verify that software changes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
    • Create and maintain regression test suites to facilitate efficient testing of software updates and patches.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate effectively with QA team members developers product managers and other stakeholders.
    • Communicate test results progress updates and risk assessments to relevant project stakeholders.
    • Participate in project meetings sprint planning and retrospectives to provide testing insights and feedback.
  6. Test Documentation:

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases test results and testing procedures.
    • Update test documentation to reflect changes in software requirements or functionality.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Manual Tester or similar role in software testing.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles methodologies and techniques.
  • Proficiency in creating and executing manual test cases.
  • Experience with defect tracking tools and software testing frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes is desirable.
