Manager of Accounting Systems and Data Governance

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Accounting Systems and Data Governance to oversee and optimize our financial data management processes and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting data governance and technology along with the ability to lead a team implement best practices and drive process improvements. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy integrity and security of our financial data while supporting strategic decisionmaking across the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Systems Management:

• Oversee the implementation maintenance and enhancement of accounting and financial systems ensuring seamless integration with other business systems.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather requirements design solutions and execute system upgrades or changes to meet evolving business needs.
• Provide guidance and support for endusers troubleshoot systemrelated issues and ensure proper training and documentation.

2. Data Governance and Compliance:

• Develop and implement data governance policies procedures and standards to ensure the accuracy consistency and security of financial data.
• Monitor and enforce data quality controls data retention policies and data access permissions to comply with relevant regulations (e.g. GDPR SOX).
• Lead efforts to identify assess and mitigate data risks ensuring data privacy and confidentiality.

3. Team Leadership:

• Manage a team of accounting systems and data governance professionals providing mentorship coaching and performance feedback.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment encouraging professional growth and development within the team.

4. Process Improvement:

• Continuously assess and improve financial data management processes to enhance efficiency accuracy and effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks streamline workflows and optimize data flow across different systems.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Collaborate with finance IT and other relevant departments to align data management strategies with business objectives.
• Engage with senior management to provide insights on data quality system performance and potential areas of improvement.

6. Reporting and Analysis:

• Generate regular reports and analyses on data quality system utilization and performance metrics for management review.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decisionmaking.

7. Technology Evaluation and Vendor Management:

• Stay updated on industry trends emerging technologies and best practices related to accounting systems and data governance.
• Evaluate and select thirdparty vendors or solutions as needed manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with service level agreements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Information Systems or a related field; Masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g. CPA CISA) preferred.
• Proven experience (5 years) in accounting systems management data governance or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles practices and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) and data management tools.
• Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and make datadriven decisions.
• Experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma Lean) is a plus.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance (e.g. GDPR SOX).
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams.
