Job Description

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance department and you will be a part of our Barcelonabased accounting team providing accounting support to the internal clients and local team.

Qualifications

Main responsibilities and functions

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Responsibility for supporting the fortnightly Payment runs
  • Supporting employee cash and corporate credit card expenses
  • Liaising with the local business teams to ensure completeness in the purchase ledger
  • Advising staff on procedures and assisting them with queries and gathering information as required
  • Provide support for forecasting variance analysis and budgeting
  • Providing adhoc support when required by senior members of the team
  • Responsibility of Month End Closure for your entities including AR reconciliation and Deferred Revenue
  • P&L analysis – OPEX Services Residences and Homestay
  • Assist submitting monthly and quarterly data into Oracle in line with Corporate reporting calendar
  • Reconciliating petty cash
  • Preparing and posting Prepayments journals
  • Maintaining Fixed Asset register and posting depreciation journals
  • Management of utility contracts including posting accruals and reviewing invoices
  • Posting general OPEX accruals
  • Management of residence costs including reviewing invoices and posting accruals
  • Coding and posting credit card accruals
  • Balance sheet reconciliations

Candidate profile

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree preferably inclusive of accounting modules
  • P&L analysis experience
  • Previous experience working for large corporation in accounting position
  • Previous ownership or involvement in monthend processes
  • NIE and SS are mandatory

Skills and competencies

  • Intermediate Excel knowledge (V Lookups pivot tables formatting of data…)
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Strong customer service ethos and high attention to detail
  • Systematic and organised approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to process high volumes of work to deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Quick to pick up and apply knowledge
  • High level of initiative selfmotivation and drive
  • Reliable with a flexible attitude
