JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install troubleshoot repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety predictive and preventative maintenance systems and processes to support the business goals and objectives.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
1. Machine and Facility Maintenance
Utilize and complies with the Quality Management System Follow safe maintenance work practices (safety glasses fall protection hard hat hearing protection lockout/tagout procedures etc.) Utilize proper housekeeping procedures to keep department machinery and tools clean and organized Utilize CWorks/machinery manuals to maintain machinery and equipment Typical work tasks include: machine maintenance general plant maintenance and major maintenance machinery safeguards lockout/tagout procedures plant shut down/start up grounding procedures heating and cooling systems inspection blue print reading miscellaneous facility construction machine assembly material storage inventory control fire prevention and documentation. Perform job functions in a costeffective manner Create materials list for maintenance and construction projects.
2. Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Qualifications
- 5 years mechanical and electrical knowledge; 5 years tool and shop experience beneficia
- Electrical and pipefitting skills: bending conduit pulling wire 220 and 480 volt 3phase make power drops from bus ways
- At least 1 year of welding experience
- Must encompass a mechanical aptitude
- Enjoy working with hands
- Controls experience preferred
- Ability to selfmotivate
- Solid communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability and willingness to learn procedures maintenance procedures work flow and machinery operations; Ability to work independently with little supervision. Past experience as an electrician preferred
- Satisfactory Michigan drivers license and record; chauffeur or commercial drivers license preferred
- With proper training lift truck operation overhead crane operation and aerial platform operations from ranging heights of 3060 ft. tall climb and descend from extension and step ladders are requirements of this position must have own maintenance and construction tools/toolbox
RELATIONSHIPS
This Position Reports to: Production Supervisor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position will be required to frequently sit utilize hand and finger dexterity talk and hear. This position requires the incumbent to frequently walk. The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift up to 80 pounds and 30 pounds unassisted. Capable of climbing over and under machinery and working in tight places. Must be able to work in Layup room with temperature of 60 degrees yearround and Coating room up to 95 degrees.
