Job Title: Mainframe System Engineer
Location: Newark NJ (Hybrid)

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for Application Lifecycle Management for the various Mainframe applications that utilize the ADABAS Natural platform.
Responsibility includes:
1. Analysis and documentation of the current system in support of the ongoing Get Off the Mainframe initiative.
2. Meeting directly with end users to understand business requirements and provide any required systems support.
3. Work with the Get Off the Mainframe team and assist them with any tasks on clients behalf.
4. Handle any shortterm maintenance and/or bug fix requirements.
5. Mentor clients personnel and provide technical assistance as needed. Coordinates project tasks between IT managers Technical Services Rail Operations and other departments.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelors level degree and seven or more years of progressive supervisory experience in implementing large scale information technology projects. Project planning experience for enterprisewide applications and experience in multiplatform application environments is required. Experience with Transportation Systems such as applications for Bus/Fleet/Rail maintenance asset management Rail crew management train dispatching (and more) is a plus and with strong analytical problemsolving skills. Handson technical experience with ADABAS / Natural and documentation with formal proposals for improvement are necessary for success. Any awareness knowledge and skills in C#.NET and PowerShell scripting are nicetohave
