Monday- Thursday (40 hours/ week)


OVERVIEW
Set up and operate manual & CNC (Complex Numeric Control) VERTICAL BORING MILL MACHINES to perform precise operations on a variety of parts and components. TOOLS USED INCLUDE (are not limited to): Vertical boring mills and associated equipment such as: milling cutters, boring bars and heads, saw, inside and outside micrometers, Vernier gauges, dial indicators, wrenches, blocks, jacks, readouts and P.C., cranes, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work from manufacturing information, drawings, written and/or verbal instructions
Interpret detailed drawings/sketches, blueprints, manufactures specifications, etc., and determines necessary tools.
Using material handling devices, load/unload parts from machines and/or assist crane operator.
Set up machines by installing tooling and program, adjusting to proper machine settings, feeds, speeds, etc., per job documentation and drawing specifications.
Secure work piece to layout or and/or surface with use of appropriate tooling/fixtures. Return tooling, attachments, fixtures, etc., to proper location upon completion of operation.
Follow established procedures on lineups, manuscripts, machine programs and tooling sheets.
Make any necessary tool changes or offsets, and therefore, re-orient machine, as required.
Use manual, semi-automatic or automatic controls to perform machining operations, such as: mill, drill, ream, bore, tap, turn face, groove, radius, and grind, etc.
Perform a variety of in-process and integrity checks, as required, to maintain specific drawing tolerances.
Complete detailed log sheet, downtime records, and other information, as required by data collection system.
Conduct in process testing and charting operational information and/or recording data as required.
Remove chips from work piece and for verifications, as required.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE IN THIS ROLE OR AS A MACHINIST IS REQUIRED
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Meticulous, Excellent Analytical Skills and Organized
