Machine Operator

• Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to make parts,mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications;determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and methodof setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precisionmeasuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating todimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, andscribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining;fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment anddetermines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may benumerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordancewith statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requirescompletion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training andexperience.The Company will provide appropriate assistance in job trainingto enable employees to perform all necessary job functions including thefollowing:1. Produce parts or assemblies using Conventional or ComputerizedNumerical Controlled (CNC) mediums, while simultaneously ensuringproduct and/or process quality at all levels of the manufacturingoperation through monitoring/verification methodologies.2. Concurrently perform related functions to provide completehardware in accordance with engineering specifications (e.g., operatingmultiple machines simultaneously, deburr part surface, milling,drilling, boring, honing, grinding, fastening).3. Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their dailywork duties (e.g., replacing machine filters, changing standard lightbulbs on machines and equipment, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels,etc. as related to basic Total Preventative Maintenance duties).4. Routinely move product within the immediate manufacturing workarea, including across isle, using shop assigned equipment as required,and complete transactions necessary to move product to the nextoperation. On an exception basis, moves product to the next operationwithin a building.5. Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturingprocess by training and assisting employees of the same or lowerclassification level.6. Trains to become MVP qualified.In addition, each employee may be asked, on occasion, tocomplete other duties and responsibilities as required by Spiritleadership. Training and certification will be provided for theadditional work when required.

Requirements:

The emphasis will be on 5 axis trim and drill, operation of a Zimmerman Gantry in Clearwater, FL.

Total of 1 position

Must be eligible for rehire at Spirit.

These resources are critical to product delivery for Airbus.

No Spirit Training/Certs are needed for this assignment
