What we are looking for

We are looking for a Logistics & Business Development Manager who will play a pivotal role in spearheading business development initiatives while overseeing the intake process within the logistics department. This multifaceted role involves profiling and onboarding new clients ensuring the integrity of incoming shipments coordinating seamless delivery to clients Coordinate sale of rejects and streamlining the sales process.

This role reports to the Head of commercial with key interactions with the Commercial team Customers Partners and Vendors/strategic services providers


What does the job involve

  • Business Development:

    • Identify and cultivate prospective clients to expand the business portfolio.
    • Develop and implement strategies to attract and onboard new clients effectively.
    • Analyse market trends and competition to identify business growth opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the commercial team to facilitate client engagement and retention.
  • Logistics Oversight:

    • Profile potential clients to align their needs with the services provided.
    • Oversee the intake process ensuring accuracy and efficiency in documentation.
    • Monitor and ensure the integrity of incoming shipments through meticulous checks and processes.
    • Coordinate seamless delivery schedules in alignment with client expectations.
    • Manage and resolve any shipment rejection scenarios promptly and effectively.
  • Client Relations:

    • Act as a primary point of contact for clients addressing inquiries and concerns.
    • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients to enhance satisfaction and retention.
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Sales Facilitation:

    • Support the sales process by providing insights and logistics expertise to aid in client acquisition.
    • Liaise with the Commercial team to develop proposals and presentations for potential clients.
    • Contribute valuable input in pricing strategies and contract negotiations.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 year of proven experience in business development and logistics management.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations including intake processes and shipment handling.
  • Proficiency in analysing market trends and implementing business growth strategies.
  • High level of Integrity drive initiative motivation commitment and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal analytical and organisational skills. Pay attention to details.
  • Excellent ICT skills including a good knowledge of MS Office and accounting software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to multitask prioritise and problemsolve in a fastpaced environment.
