Walkers Excavation located in Belgrade MT (near Bozeman) has partnered with AstroHire to find and hire their Lead Diesel Mechanic. Since 1995 Walkers has consistently grown with construction and excavation clients trusting us for: Custom Homes Custom Commercial Dewatering Balken Oil Fields FedGov and State work and even Grocery Store buildouts.
We seek a Lead Diesel Mechanic with ten (10) or more years of experience performing diagnostics and repairs on heavy machinery diesel vehicles. Youre not a wallflower or standerby; YOU have experience and knowhow to detect test analyze and fix common problems quickly while also solving NOT so common problems with creativity and confidence.
The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team and have prior experience performing maintenance tasks on heavy machinery.
The heavy equipment mechanic is responsible for maintaining all equipment in our fleet in a safe and operating manner along with all preventative maintenance. Must have proven experience in all phases of heavy equipment repair all types and brands including but not limited to: Cat John Deere Volvo etc. Applicants must also have strong knowledge of heavy truck repair (5th wheel Tractors and Trailers included).
Applicants must have an extensive complete set of own tools. Service truck with crane supplied as well as a shop truck.

Requirements
Essential Duties
- Prevent breakdowns in heavy equipment by conducting preventive maintenance and repairs
- Oversee and repair process for mechanical equipment
- Perform repairs on hydraulic and electrical systems
- Follow manufacturer s directions for basic repair and maintenance
- Check integrity of equipment
- Inspect clean and lubricate equipment
- Keep detailed maintenance records

own
Qualifications
1. Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
2. Vast knowledge of heavy equipment mechanics
3. 10 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience on a wide variety of equipment.
4. Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
5. Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance; electrical hydraulic and mechanical systems; mechanical systems troubleshooting
