Your keyjobresponsibilities as theLead Developer (SaaS) in Cape Townwill include:

• You are not responsible for the architecture, but rather to be a helping hand to our Head of Engineering in this regard
  
• Guide the developers in the specific squad to write code according to the architecture set out by their Head of Engineering
  
• Ensuring that there are no overdue issues at any point in time
  
• Working with the Head of Engineering to ensure that sprint items are completed according to an agreed upon timeframe
  
• Code production and quality is up to the required standard, as defined by our Head of Engineering
  
• Standard Operating Procedures have been adhered to at all times by the squad
  
• Timelines and time management is being tracked and reported on
  
• Working with the Head of Engineering to ensure that they have the right people on the bus in our respective squads
  

Requirements

Requirements for thisLead Developer (SaaS) jobinCape Town:

• Preferably a degree or diploma in computer science/software development/information technology or proven industry experience
  
• 5+ years of technical hands-on experience as a Senior Developer
  
• 5-7 years experience in Vanilla PHP and Software Development
  
• Solid experience in PHP, MySQL knowledge, HTML/CSS, GIT, Vue.js
  
• Experience REST APIs and security protocols
  
• Experience as a Lead Developer
  
• Solid experience with microservice architectures
  
• Experience leading and mentoring a team, managing expectations and performance
  
• Previous experience guiding a team of developers or managing a project
  
• Deep understanding and experience of developing end-to-end scalable and distributed cloud applications
  
• Able to research new technologies and make suggestions on improvements
  
• Understanding of latest development best practices and standards
  
• Drive best practices and do code reviews
  
• Familiarity with agile development frameworks, e.g. Scrum
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Work well in and across teams as well as independently
  
• Be passionate and self-driven
  
• Exhibit strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  
• Must come from high-growth SaaS business background
  
• Solid experience and the full software development lifecycle
  
• Familiar with SOLID, KISS and YAGNI
