Contribute to the growth of the Honeywell Process Solutions Service business by providing accurate and efficient technical support to external customers as well as internal within Honeywell systems maintenance and service on Honeywell Process Solutions systems.

As a Lead Automation Engineer you will be actively working on all aspects of our Honeywell Process Solutions systems for short- and long-term DCS engineering projects as well assigned corrective and preventive maintenance activities for our customers.

Tasks

Responsibilities Of The Position:

  • The purpose of this role is to lead small project teams that implement standard Honeywell migration solutions with customised specials, if required, to successful completion and within budgeted time and cost constraints.
  • To be technically responsible for the overall technical design and technical scope of the systems and/or solutions in scope of the project, fully in line with Honeywell standards, design rules and guidelines.
  • To support the implementation of projects in line with Honeywell objectives including continuous improvement of margin, customer satisfaction, schedule and safety performance.
  • Acts as technical interface with customers, establishing professional relationships to ensure that the technical project requirements are fully defined, agreed and delivered within schedule and cost constraints.
  • Acts as technical interface to 3rd party suppliers to assure correct functionality of the 3rd party deliverables including the correct integration of those deliverables in Honeywell systems or solutions.
  • Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
  • Produces and/or approves functional and detailed design specifications and provides technical leadership, support and expertise for the project team.
  • Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements, across all disciplines, in terms of functionality, Honeywell standard designs & design rules, quality, and supports documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by optimizing use of global productivity tools and other Standard
  • Builds deliverables.
  • Ensures flawless integration of Global Engineering Services in the projects.
  • Maximize utilization of global support services.
  • Monitors and controls technical project scope against the Project Execution Plan and Functional & Detailed
  • Design Specifications, ensures effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities.
  • Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements and shares technical knowledge back to Discipline Communities, the EEX organization and the project team.
  • Reports progress and technical problems and/or changes to project manager.

Requirements

Generic Competencies: ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS REQUIRED / SOUGHT:

  • Minimum a bachelor s degree in electronics, automation or process technologies.
  • 10-12 Years experience in system engineering, project execution, operations or maintenance functions within the industrial automation industry.
  • High interest in technology and its evolution, hardware and software (IT)
  • Team player
  • Communication capabilities
  • Aware of personal qualities and limitations
  • Experience / Education Required / Sought
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Honeywell or other DCS vendors
  • Expert knowledge of various control techniques (regular, advanced, optimization, networks).
  • Knowledge of protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP.
  • Knowledge of virtualization.
  • Effective, honest communications capabilities (good written and verbal skills).
  • Fluent Dutch and English, French will be a plus
  • Customer Service orientation
