Overview

Key responsibilities

• Performing laparoscopic surgeries such as cholecystectomy appendectomy hernia repair and bariatric procedures
• Evaluating patients to determine the need for surgical intervention and developing personalized treatment plans
• Conducting preoperative assessments and obtaining informed consent from patients
• Utilizing laparoscopic equipment and advanced surgical instruments during procedures
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and postoperative management
• Providing timely and accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient progress
• Participating in continuous medical education and staying updated on latest advancements in laparoscopic surgery
• Supervising and mentoring medical staff including residents and surgical interns
• Following safety protocols and maintaining a sterile surgical environment
• Communicating effectively with patients and their families addressing any concerns or questions
• Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to quality improvement initiatives
• Adhering to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of patient care and surgical practice

Required qualifications

• Board certification in General Surgery and fellowship training in Minimally Invasive/Laparoscopic Surgery
• Valid medical license and registration to practice as a General Surgeon
• Proven experience in performing laparoscopic procedures with a focus on complex cases
• Excellent diagnostic and decisionmaking skills with a strong emphasis on patient safety
• Indepth knowledge of laparoscopic techniques including advanced suturing and tissue manipulation
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple surgical cases
• Demonstrated proficiency in laparoscopic equipment and familiarity with latest technologies
• Effective communication abilities both verbal and written with patients and healthcare professionals
• A commitment to continuous professional development and participation in surgical research
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance with ethical standards
