Responsibilities for this Junior Supermarket Duty Manager Job:

• You will work closely with the senior grocery shop manager to learn the process of placing orders using their back office and ordering systems.
  
• Understanding and implementing food safety and sanitation guidelines is essential.
  
• You will learn about proper handling storage and temperature control of fresh food and grocery retail items to ensure they are safe for consumption.
  
• Will be given exposure to people management leading and evaluating peoples work mainly within the grocery and retail departments providing training and direction to complete tasks.
  
• Collaboration and effective communication are essential to coordinate tasks address challenges and maintain a smooth operation.
  
• You will provide support in various operational aspects such as scheduling staffing and managing work shifts.
  

The ideal candidate for this Junior Supermarket Duty Manager Job:

• Previous experience as a duty manager supervisor or sales assistant with experience making rosters and processing returns within a busy retail grocery environment this is essential.
  
• Must be experienced in using a till/cash register system.
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel for reporting
  
• Must have strong people management skills.
  
• Strong customer service skills are essential
  
• Must have staff training & development experience.
  
• Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
