Junior Legal Counsel

Location Cheltenham (Central)

What will your role be

As Junior Legal Counsel you willcontribute to the success of the business by supporting our inhouseLegal Counsel in providing legal services to the projects and seniormanagement teams. Focusing strongly on commercial contracts for EPCand M&A transactions as well as long term technical servicesprovision you will support your line manager and colleagues inactioning all necessary procedures.

What will you spend your timeworking on at Noriker

  • With the support of senior legalcounsel provide legal advice and support on a wide range ofmatters including contracts compliance intellectual propertyemployment law and corporate governance

  • Assist senior legal counsel inproviding legal support across the above areas ensuring they are fitfor the future growth of the company.

  • Draft and negotiate contracts withbusiness partners suppliers and customers

  • Ensure company wide compliance withapplicable laws regulations and industry standards across areas ofyour expertise

  • Provide general and commercial legalsupport to projects and businesses within the group. This mayinclude advice on tender proposals contract drafting negotiationand review and specific legal needs.

  • Work with projects and senior legalcounsel to resolve adhoc legal issues supporting the GroupsMerger and Acquisition strategy.

  • Identify areas of risk both currentand future and collaborate with seniors and stakeholders across thebusiness to develop mitigation strategies

  • Assist with company secretarialmatters

  • Work towards becoming an expertresource for the entire group on complex regulation in theelectricity sector


What we are looking for from you:

  • A relevant degree and legalqualifications

  • A keen interest in the energy sector

  • Minimum of 2 years experiencepractising law preferably in a corporate legal department or firm

  • Practical experience ofcompany/commercial law negotiation and commercial contracts.

  • A working knowledge of contract andcorporate law as well as compliance and regulatory matters.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • You have a deep conviction towardsintegrity confidentiality discretion and honesty

  • You take pride in your work and aremotivated by the thought of a job well done

  • Youre also a natural problemsolver able to grasp complex situation get up to speed quicklyand present considered advice as to how to resolve challenges thatarise.

  • A strong commercial awareness
