Junior Computational Engineer (m/f/d)

If you have a background in Building Design and Computational Engineering (with at least basic software development skills) and want to support the development of automated building-design processes, please send us your resume and motivation letter. You will be working with a team of technicians to create, maintain, and extend the generative- and parameterized design processes. The focus will be on parameterizing our timber-hybrid building-system and building the algorithms to generate many building-designs for a given building. These designs will be stored in a common-data-environment (CDE) and your team will generate various analysis, filters, and reports based on the generated designs. In the junior role, you have the basic technological and methodological skills required and support and work with experienced team members to become an experienced computational engineer fast.

Tasks

Obtain a general understanding of the CREE timber-hybrid system

• Development of an automated design approach for the CREE timber-hybrid system
• Creation of modules to ease the workflow of systemized planning with e.g.,
• floor elements,
• exterior / interior wall elements,
• and the building's facade/window design.
• Generate KPIs from the generated designs to support the decision making processes
• For example: building shape X generates X amount of CO2, building height X generates X construction time, etc.

Requirements

BSc/MSc in construction engineering or building architecture (or equivalent experience) or

• BSc/MSc in computational engineering or generative design (or equivalent experience)
• Proficiencies in Rhino, Grasshopper (plus) or equivalent (e.g.. Revit + Dynamo, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, )
• Basic knowledge in Software-Development and scripting tools
• Fluent in English (spoken and written, mandatory)
• German optional
• Located in or close to Central Europe preferred
