Junior Business Analyst Remote

The Illinois Secretary of State (SOS) is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in our ongoing Digital Transformation and Modernization efforts. The successful candidate will act as a bridge translating business objectives into actionable requirements for the IT team and ensuring solutions meet needs of a diverse stakeholder group.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with crossfunctional stakeholders to gather detailed business requirements. Identify evaluate and document business needs and objectives operational processes and procedures problems and requirements.
• Perform requirements elicitation/documentation/management as well as use case documentation to assist developers in the creation of solutions to meet business objectives.
• Use Visio to document processes and procedures related to Business Analysis.
• Conduct user acceptance testing with end users to ensure the implemented solution meets expectations interfacing across departments and

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of Business Analysis experience. Proven experience in documenting and eliciting business functional and user requirements for IT systems through user stories use cases process flow diagrams etc.
• Knowledge of business analysis processes principles practices and techniques.
• Experience writing SQL queries sufficient for data analysis and reporting
• Utilizing technical skills including Word Excel PowerPoint Visio and Jira (or similar tools).
• Strong analytical abilities and written and verbal communication skills including technical writing and documentation skills.
• Collaborative mindset and capable of working in crossfunctional teams demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Education

• Bachelors degree in IT or related field.
